The Jesusonian Republic Of South Carolina

From a post at AmericaBlog comes a report in the LA Times that the Taliborn Again are intent on staging a county-by-county, district-by-district coup de tat in the red state of Sawth Kay-ro-lye-neh ...

DiMartino, who drove here recently to look for a new home, is a member of Christian Exodus, a movement of politically active believers who hope to establish a government based upon Christian principles.

At a time when evangelicals are exerting influence on the national political stage — having helped secure President Bush's reelection — Christian Exodus believes that people of faith have failed to assert their moral agenda: Abortion is legal. School prayer is banned. There are limits on public displays of the Ten Commandments. Gays and lesbians can marry in Massachusetts.

Christian Exodus activists plan to take control of sheriff's offices, city councils and school boards. Eventually, they say, they will control South Carolina. They will pass godly legislation, defying Supreme Court rulings on the separation of church and state.

"We're going to force a constitutional crisis," said Cory Burnell, 29, an investment advisor who founded the group in November 2003.

Ooooh, but the best line of the article is the next sentance:

"If necessary," he said, "we will secede from the union."

THANK YOU, JEEEEE-SUSSSS!!!!

That line alone is the absolute best news to come out of rightwing, Republican-voting, Dollar-whoring, Poor-Despising, America-hating Christian Fundamentalism ever. EVER! It's making me so happy that I'm seriously considering starting of PayPal account so that TBT can collect donations on their behalf in order to ensure the Taliborn Again's coup de tat is a success so that their subsequent succession from the Union is hastened.

This will allow all the rich, white, Republicans within the Taliborn Again to foot the bill and the burden for every single problem in South Carolina. Let 'em pay for their own paved rodes and STOP signs along with building their own economy that must sink or swim without a single red cent from Federal coffers. Let's see if rich, white, Republican, Christian fundamentalist schysters such as Pat Robertson and Dr. Charles Stanley has the "Christian Courage & Spirit" (read: testicular fortitude & generosity) to take on the financial responsibility of every single South Carolina family on welfare. In other words, let's all just give 'em enough "Christian" rope to hang their own "Christian" asses with.

Sound like a plan?

Oh, wait -- you're a deeply concerned/moderate/liberal South Carolina resident and can't afford to move out of the state to avoid the Taliborn Agains coup, eh? Fine, I'll start up another seperate PayPal account for contributions from other like-minded, concerned people so that folks like you can get the fuck out of Dodge and relocate to a more tolerable state. You know, where the skies and the people are more -- uh, how can we say it -- BLUE?

The Truth Shall Get You Fired

With the national media's attention on Karl Rove, the War, and Cindy Sheehan over the past month, some stories just pass under the radar, which happened here on August 10th. But, better late than never! So, what happens when a journalist writes a decent article regarding acceptance by members of his own family over what brand of car he buys and the article just happens to take a few mild yet merited swipes at the big 3 American auto makers?

In James Biggs' case, he got fired. The skinny from
E&P:

A Michigan newspaper columnist who was fired Tuesday claims his dismissal was punishment for a column he wrote on Saturday criticizing American cars.

James Briggs, a former columnist and news editor at The Daily Telegram of Adrian, Mich., says the publisher canned him for writing the column that upset auto dealers and others so close to Detroit's auto manufacturing power houses. The publisher told E&P that auto advertisers did complain, but says there's more to it than that.

"I was in a meeting with my boss [editor Mark Lenz] and the publisher came in and berated me for half an hour," Brigg said, describing the Tuesday morning meeting at the afternoon paper. "He said I needed to understand the consequences of what I wrote."

What he wrote was a column in Saturday's paper that described his decision to switch from driving an American car to a foreign model. "Maybe I'm hitting a late rebellious streak. Maybe I'm simply unpatriotic, ungrateful or un-American," the column said, in part. "Or maybe the domestic automakers have slipped so far down that purchasing an American vehicle has become moronic. I'll go with that answer."

I would agree with that answer, too.

Briggs, 24, said he received no feedback from the newspaper until Tuesday morning when Publisher Paul Heidbreder approached him during his meeting with Lenz. "He said it was insensitive for me to write such a column given our proximity to the Big Three [automakers]," Briggs said. "He tried to get me to at least apologize and I was not going to apologize because I believe what I wrote."

Lenz, who did not respond to a request for comment, reviewed the column prior to publication, Briggs said. The column is still up on the paper's Web site as of Wednesday afternoon.

...

The publisher told E&P today the termination was not based solely on the column. He also said no advertising had been lost so far, although some auto dealers had threatened to pull ads.

"The auto dealers threat was not what led to his termination," said Heidbreder, who has been publisher since early June. "His account of the events is inaccurate. But I am not going to comment further on personnel matters." The publisher also contends that when he fired Briggs, he offered to give him an explanation, but the columnist said he did not need one.

Of course, he won't need a reason if he's making a pit stop to a lawyer's office on the way home. Reading between the lines, you know exactly why Biggs was cut. His editor and the publisher of the newspaper accepted his article and published it. If neither of them proofed it beforehand, why in the hell are they editing and/or publishing a newspaper in the first place? If either of them had issues with Biggs' commentary, it should've been brought up long before it hit the press. That didn't happen until the publisher got reamed by the Big Three just a few days later and got scared. The Big Three demanded his head and the pussy publisher delivered.

For the original peice that Biggs wrote that pissed off the Big Three, head over here and check it all out. I've read far more damning articles towards the Big Three by the likes of Mitch Albom, Bill Bonds, and other Metro-Detroit area journalist over the last 30 years I've been drawing oxygen and none of them got shitcanned because of it. Why? Because the Big Three knows better than to even try such a move since the people of Detroit stand by their journalists the majority of the time. It's much easier for the big bad Corporatocracy to go after the smaller, lesser-known journalists working at small-fry newspapers outside of the ol' castle gates. The termination of Biggs over this article is deplorable and I'd share this sentiment even if I didn't agree with him. Regardless of that, here's to hoping James Biggs ends up at a better newspaper that stands by their crew instead of buckling to the intimidation of the Corporatocracy.

He's Gary Hart ... And He Is Pissed!!

Gary Hart, the former Democratic senator of Colorado, lets his hair down in the WaPo, and he simply hammers everyone, saving the majority of his anger for our current crop of spineless Democrats. No quoting here will do it justice and I've nothing more to add except read it for yourself.

Down Time

Last Friday, I was sitting here at my desk playing Tiger Woods 2005. My created golfer -- who resembled a cross between Bullworth and Snoop Dog -- is standing on the tee of one of the menacing PAR 5 holes at Sawgrass. I needed to hit the green in two for the Eagle so I hauled off and wailed on the ball, sending a monsterous, Herculean drive right down the fairway that even the announcer David Farity let loose with an ecstatic, "Hooorah!!" His comrade Gary McCord voiced his pleasure with nothing short of an orgasm. The drive was bound to break the 400 yard barrier.

Alas, I never got a chance to know for sure because while the ball was still in the middle of its 9-second hangtime, the 5 year old power supply in my computer case decided it was to time to give up the ghost. My whole rig went down accept for the cold cathodes in the front of the case. I switched the PSU off by the the master circuit on the back, waited for 2 minutes, flipped it again, and pressed the power button on the front of my PC case. Two seconds later, I hear a loud POP .... and that sealed her demise.

No blue magic smoke.

No fire.

No scent of burnt electronics.

Heat? Oh yes. Lots of it. Cracked it open, noticed the tell-tale milky substance oozing out of one of the capacitors and hence the reason for the downtime since then. I just popped in a replacement 500 Watt PSU from Codegen and I don't entirely trust it. Too much flux on the +12V rail for my blood but it'll have to do until I wrangle $60 bones or so to replace it with a higher quality one.

In the meantime, I back up and running but blog updates here will only happen when it's cool enough in the house to do so (no AC here -- whatever the housefans draw from outside is as cool as it gets) and since it's currently 81 degrees here -- both outside and inside the house -- I'm going to shut down until sundown.

As for my golf addiction, a PS2 rental from Hollywood Video has me all squared!

Oh-Why-Eee

Jesus Dice-Collecting Christ, get a load of this from Atrios:

Staff Sgt. Jason Rivera, 26, a Marine recruiter in Pittsburgh, went to the home of a high school student who had expressed interest in joining the Marine Reserve to talk to his parents.

It was a large home in a well-to-do suburb north of the city. Two American flags adorned the yard. The prospect's mom greeted him wearing an American flag T-shirt.

"I want you to know we support you," she gushed.

Rivera soon reached the limits of her support.

"Military service isn't for our son. It isn't for our kind of people," she told him.

Exactly what does she mean by her "kind of people"? I'll tell you: Suburbanite, Orwellian "upper-middle class", white, bourgeois Republican/Limosine Liberal, elitist kind who believe that since they put a ribbon on their SUV, stuck a few "Made In Taiwan" American flags on their plush lawns, and say the right things and do the right dance amongst their neighbors down at the church, they have thus met the criteria of "supporting the troops" and therefore must not make any sacrifices nor have their personal lives inconvenienced. In her eyes, military service is for "other people" -- bottom-of-the-barrel, wage-earning/welfare riddled, niggers, spics, and other sub-$50,000 a year, honky white trash from the projects, trailer parks, HUD-homes, and Section 8 housing farms.

Not her ... and her pwess-shus baby boyz and gurly gurlz.

Ugh. What a load of Novak.

Armando's on board with a good "WTF?!?"

Mark Shields pulls out the ol' 1 Iron.

It's a Wonderful Lie hammers it:

... [It's] the perfect example, to me, of the neocons, Christianists, and zombie point-talkers' ultimate goal: a rigid, class-based society where the idea of a social "ladder" is only a myth with just enough credibility to keep the peasants from revolting.
That's about the extent of it ...

Mothers 2 -- O'Reilly 0

Over the last few days, FOX NEWS pablum puker Bill O'Rielly and the Republican Noise Machine has been attacking Cindy Sheehan - a mother who had lost her son in the War On Terror and has been camped outside President Bush's ranch ever since he went on vacation. Ms. Sheehan was scheduled to appear on The O'Reilly Factor but backed out because of a previous exchange between O'Reilly and Republican partisan hack Michelle Malkin:

O'Reilly: I think Mrs. Sheehan bears some responsibility for this and also for the responsibility for the other American families who lost sons and daughters in Iraq who feel this kind of behavior borders on treasonous.

Malkin: I can’t imagine that Casey Sheehan would approve of such behavior.

Now, when I myself read this exchange (and saw the video courtesy of C&L), I immediately jumped from own chair in rage. How dare these two sanctimonious Republican twits spew such blatant horseshit?!? The actual GALL Malkin had to imply that she herself knew Casey Sheehan moreso then the woman responsible for bringing him into the world in the first place is idiotic, offensive, and downright unforgivable. I'm not of the women-hitting kind because, for one, it's not in my bloodline. Secondly, last time I checked, beating up on women isn't part of the Democratic political playbook. But Malkin's words were enough for me to entertain the thought of wanting to slap her face until her ears rang like chappel bells on a cold Christmas morning. That thought was dashed real quick by the realization that in order for that fantasy to become reality, I'd have to take a number or climb over millions of other mothers ahead of me -- regardless if they lost one of their own or not. Definately not going there.

Where I will go is the same place O'Reilly went yet again -- this time, the mother was Dolores Kesterson. According to The Huffington Post's Thomas de Zengotita, Ms. Kesterson was previously hyped by The Factor as a guest that would dissent with Cindy Sheehan. However, that's not the way it happened. Once again, the lads at C&L have the video where Kesterson schooled O'Reilly whenever she wasn't being interrupted:

O'Reilly: I believe your son died in a noble cause. That your son died to give other people freedom. Alright? And if you're a Christian, you know, there is no greater sacrifice than to give your life for someone else, so I believe -- I believe -- your son died in a noble cause. Do you believe that?

Kesterson: He was willing to do that. I don't believe that, you know, we're freeing these people when we're building all these major military bases in Iraq.

O'Reilly: You don't believe we're freeing anybody in Iraq?

Kesterson: No I do not.

O'Reilly: You believe they were better under Saddam than they are now ...

Kesterson: No. But-

O'Reilly: (interupting) We're not freeing them ...

Kesterson: (continuing) There was a time for that after we took care of the real business of getting the real terrorists and the real killers from 9/11.

O'Reilly: Now, I respect your opinion. That's why you're on the program and why I wanted you to talk to millions of people all over the world about your experiances and why you feel the way you do. Obviously, we respect your son who I think is a great patriot. And I don't want you to be used. You know, I think Cindy Sheehan is being used by very far-

Kesterson: (interupting) I have a question about that ...

O'Reilly: (counter-interupting) Alright, I'll let you ask it. But let me make this statement. I think she's being used by very far left elements in this country -- elements that not only object to the Iraq war but basically object to our way of life here -- America as we know it. And if you look at it logically, everyone knows, Hilary Clinton knows, and on and on that if we cut and run from Iraq and we pull out of there, it would make the War on Terror twice as dangerous as it is now and that's just a fact. So, ask me your question and I'll be happy to answer it.

Kesterson: I don't believe, you know, what you're saying about they're forces behind here because I know there's nobody behind me. I've been relatively-

O'Reilly: (interupting) Well, you're a different story. But, if you don't believe me ...

Kesterson: (sighing twice in exasperation in response to being interupted)

O'Reilly: ... all you have to do is go to the Michael Moore website and all you have to do is call the Fenton Group which is a leftwing group in Washington which puts out her Press Releases, and here I have a (holding up a printout of NewsHounds) an internet thing where she told us ... and I mean, these people are off-the-chart left ... (quoting) 'Cindy Sheehan Says Bill O'Reilly Is An Obscenity To Humanity', okay? I mean ... uh ... ay ... Ms. Kesterson, if you don't want to beleive me, you don't have to believe me. All I can do is report what we know to be true and if you don't accept it, you don't accept it. We have Michael Moore involved. You know Micheal Moore. We have ...

Kesterson: (nodding) Uh-hum. Nice person. (hardly audible over Bill but it's there!)

O'Reilly: ... the most far left elements in the country involved in telling the woman what to say and how to say it and monitoring what she goes on and what she doesn't go on. You know, there's nothing else I can tell you.

Kesterson: Nobody tells her what to say.

O'Reilly: (interupting) But ... what?!? ... How? (sighing)

Kesterson: (counter-interupting) And nobody tells me what to say. You know-

O'Reilly: (interupting) How can you say that?

Kesterson: (counter-interupting) ... I mean, she speaks from the heart as I speak from the heart. I mean, she lost the most precious thing in the world to her.

O'Reilly: (interupting) Would you go on the Michael Moore website, madame?

Kesterson: (totally offended and no longer giving a shit) Probably ... I mean, I will NOW, you know? I don't go do that - go voluntarily - but uh-

O'Reilly: (interupting) But, I mean, do you respect Michael Moore? Do you believe in the things that Micheal Moore believes in - that we are a bad country; that we're an evil country ...

Kesterson: (interupting) See, you're putting words in his ... (sighing because O'Reilly kept talking)

O'Reilly: ... that we brought this war upon ourselves.

Kesterson: You're putting words in his mouth, the way I look at it. I mean he ...

O'Reilly: (interupting) But, wait a second ...

Kesterson: (continuing) ... he made a documentary ...

O'Reilly: (getting louder) ... let me ask you ... hold it. (frowning because Kesterson won't back down) Do you respect (slowly) Michael Moore's view of the United States?

Kesterson: I don't know his entire view of the United States. But, you know, there are a lot of things that Michael Moore has brought up that I think needed to be brought up and I do beleive them. But I can't say because I don't know what he has said ... you know ... across the board.

O'Reilly: If you had to throw in with one person -- President Bush or Michael Moore -- if you had to make a decision 'Who am I going to back here', who would it be?

Kesterson: (takes a deep breath) Micheal Moore, if he has lied or not, has not killed thousands of people, possibly hundreds of thousands ...

O'Reilly: (interupting) Okay ... so you believe that President Bush has killed hundreds of thousands of people?

Kesterson: Yes. (nodding).

O'Reilly: So you believe the President is an evil man?

Kesterson: I believe he is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, our soliders included.

O'Reilly: (interupting) So there's no justification ...

Kesterson: (counter-interupting) ... in an unneccessary war.

O'Reilly: (still yammering) self-defense was no justification ... war on terror ...

Kesterson: (snarking) It wasn't self-defense in my eyes.

O'Reilly: (interupting) So you would've been okay with letting Saddam ...

Kesterson: (counter-interupting) We were not attacked by Iraq!

O'Reilly: (raising his voice) Okay, we were not attacked by Iraq but Kuwait was and he signed a treaty ...

We'll stop the transcript there because TBT isn't in the business in publishing bullshit "redefinition" propaganda from Republican talking points from either their think tanks, their corporate owned and operated tax-break loving mainstream media outlets, and certainly not from their armada of partisan pundits who collect paychecks from those very well-off Republican CEOs that get to keep going to the fucking bank for every worthless shark attack they drop into our middle/lower class, time-clock punching laps. We've paid for that shit three times over already: once by watching our public property (i.e. the airwaves) go to rich multinational corporations so they can have "free speech" thanks to Clinton's ridiculous Deregulation act, second by watching them use their "free speech" powers to bombard us with Chandra Levy, Micheal Jackson, and American Idol results up until those 3000 people died on 9/11, and currently because they're still engaging in this mass distraction "infotainment" shit and getting away with it because there isn't a Democrat in the Beltway with the balls and the spine to point it out (lest it pisses off thy bribing lobbyists).

Of course, we all know what's happening here. The Bush brigade, the neocons, the Rethugs, and their Freeperville Republican guard simply can't argue with mothers that have lost a son or daughter in this pointless war and therefore must smear them in order to keep the Fundy Fristian base drinking the dogpiss they've been bullshitted into thinking is Kool-Aid. Mainly because that's all Bush and the GOP have -- the Fundy Fristians. They sure as hell lost nearly all the Democrats that supported Bush (with the exception of Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller, but they're not Democrats anyway) and the moderates started slowly waking up earlier this year due to Cheney's "last throes" and the Downing Street Minutes.

How did the Republicans manage to bullshit them for this long?

Dr. Gerry Lower explains:

Why is it that the American people are so willingly engaged in meticulous, critical thought when it comes down to who raped a fictional working woman in New York, and so willingly disengaged in thought when it comes down to who actually assaulted and raped and pillaged Iraq? How is it that the American people are infatuated with logical thought portrayed in television dramas and then reject the entire notion when dealing with the reality of the Bush administration, what it has done to divide and conquer the American people, what it has done to diminish America's once good name on a global basis?

...

In harshly oppressive societies, those so oppressive that even a free press is wishful thinking, this need to think intelligently on occasion is stifled beyond reasonable doubt. There were no WMDs in Iraq? Don't think about it, trust us. There were no affiliations between Hussein's Iraq and bin Laden's al Qaida? Don't think about it, trust us. You doubt that the insurgency in Iraq is in its "last throes?" Don't think about it, trust us. You suspect that Bush's nation-bombing war has made terrorism even worse? Don't think about it, trust us.

You doubt that giving money to the rich is the best way to achieve equality and fairness and a healthy nation? Don't think about it, trust us. You doubt that CEOs are really worth thousands of times more than working people? Don't think about it, trust us. You doubt that society really needs a greed and power-driven corporate aristocracy mucking around with democracy? Don't think about it, trust us.

Trust us, until you don't have any original thoughts of your own anymore, until you believe every word out the mainstream media. With this newfound freedom from thought (masquerading as freedom of thought, no less -- Sy.), you may even feel like you have transcended the real world and are on your way to heaven. If you need to convince yourself that you still have the capacity for intelligent cogitation, tune into "CSI-Miami" or "House."

Of course, the good doctor isn't going to brief us on the cause of the malady without providing the cure:

The single-most important criterion for believeability in a logical viewpoint is internal consistency. If Bush says that Hussein possesses WMDs, then Hussein must have WMDs in his possession, or someone is telling a lie. If Bush says that Hussein is intimately aligned with bin Laden's al Qaida, then Hussein must have defineable alignments with al Qaida, or someone is telling a lie. If it is all a lie, a concoction to drug the people, then it is the American people who have been screwed, right along with Iraq. Who is this all too tough for? Certainly not too tough for those who watch "Law & Order - SVU."

If the American people applied anything of what they can learn about critical thought (even from television dramas) to the brave new world brought to them by religious capitalism, the Bush administration wouldn't last another month. That is how patently straight-forward this all is, if one is unafraid to call a lie a lie and treason treason. Admitting incompetent national leadership is far more sane than referring to the Bush administration's lies and coercion as part and parcel of doing the work of God.

Bush's entire program is predicated on keeping the people from thinking for themselves. That is certainly not the kind of democracy that Jefferson and Franklin had in mind, but it does prevent the people from dealing with the "Crime of the Century," the unprovoked assault, rape and pillage of Iraq. Bush's concept of "democracy" is a total denigration of the core message taught by both Jesus and Jefferson, that most of all the people have a right to simple, honest human truth.

Ooooh, there's that damndable T-word again: TRUTH! That's something that the Republicans and their pontificating, sanctimonious pundits claim to have a vast monopoly on only to turn around and fall over themselves trying to keep that very same truth from mercilessly picking aparts the lies and deceptions their myopic world-view is tempered with. This is exactly the real reason why O'Rielly and the rest of them keeping parroting that whole "if we pull out of Iraq, the War on Terror will be worse" meme. They don't really believe that at all. They could care less about the War on Terror and the Iraqi citizens. Bush's let's-fight-them-over-there-instead-of-over-here "Flypaper" strategy is proof of that and it also tosses Bill O'Reilly's appeal to the Christian notion of sacrificing ones life to save others right out the window because -- together -- they imply that American lives are somehow more valuable than Non-American lives. What in the hell kind of "pro-life" argument is that from these so-called "Compassionate Christian Conservatives"?!?

I'd really like to know where in The Bible would Oliver North dig for that kind of notion, especially in light of the fact that the God he and his Republican party claim to worship so much said quite clearly that He doesn't play favorites; that He is not a respector of persons (Romans 2:11, Ephesians 6:9, and Colossians 3:25) This is a God whom, in the Old Testament, wouldn't bat an eye wiping out an entire nation. Clearly, the God of The Bible is neither "pro-life" nor "pro-choice; He is PRO-ME! Always has been. His plan, His Will, His Grace, His Planet -- according to Him, it all belongs to Him. He's the Alpha and the Omega and if that IS true, then we might as well pack up both our "pro-life" and "pro-choice" horseshit along with any notions of American lives somehow being worth more than Non-American lives and ball it up, and bag it because it our own self-indulgence and self-importance that creates that garbage completely out of a false perception of God not from the actual Scriptures but out pure, unenlightened self-interest. Seriously, if the God of the Bible has the destruction of America anywhere in His plan ........... what the fuck are we going to do -- filibuster it?!? Impeach Him?!?

Such uncertainity of the unknown scares Bush & the Republicans shitless; be it from God or not. Such uncertainty can only be magnified by the uncertainty that if we do indeed pull our troops out of Iraq and bring 'em back home, then they could very well excercise those Contitutional Freedoms they have by claiming Bush and the Republicans have taken them for granted in this bullshit war every single step of the way. That uncertainly is enough to force our troops to remain over there where if any of them falls "out of line" by slamming the Republicans and their "commander-in-chief", they could easily be dealt with or derided if they air their grievances to our conspicuously embedded media over there. The proof of this is in how quick they moved to slime Paul Hackett and his run in Ohio but you can go back farther than that by pointing out that when one of our brave troops dared to embarrass Donald Rumsfeld on globally broadcasted LIVE television by hammering him about the lack of armor, the first thing that floated across the minds of the Bush Administration and the GOP wasn't, "Sure, we'll address that right away and get you that armor!" Instead, it was, "Fuck armor -- GIVE 'EM MUZZLES!! Shut them the hell up before too many liberals hear him!!"

Seriously, bringing the troops home now runs the risk of uncertainty or possibly more public embarrassment -- embarrassment that our sensationalized media would climb over paparazzis to cover. Therefore, the Republicans ultimate goal with our troops is to keep them there until long after they've spent whatever political and monetary capital (in the form of no-bid government contracts) can be gleaned from them. Then and only then will they bring the troops home because, by then, they hope that any large-scale Bush bashing on their part can be derided off as "old news" or re-defined as the fault of the likes of Michael Moore, Dolores Kesterson, Cindy Sheehan, and their friends within the nasty "liberal media" that conspired with their respective agendas to undermind the war effort. The actions of O'Rielly and Malkin are only the small pre-labor contractions of what's to come once the water breaks.

Katherine Harris Gets A New Nickname

John and the gang over at C&L has a video of FNC's Hannity & Colmes where the political artist formerly known under such monikers as "Madame Hangchad" and "Cruella DeVillage Idiot" shows up for an interview about her campaign. At least, that's what they want us to believe. The truth, however, is that the real focus of the interview was in Harris's "assets" -- her burgeoning Breasts of Mass Male Molification. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding and, my oh my, does standing at profile with ones arms clasped behind the back ever POP them titties to center stage, eh? Yeppers! Women with less-than-handfull B-Cups can easily give off the illusion of C-cup succulence by simply arming themselves with a decent bra, a tight blouse, and that very same pose.

The fact that she stands in this "right-side profile" stance for the entire segment and her shoulders are perked backward because her wrists (allthough off camera) are clasped together behind her back speaks volumes -- this interview wasn't impromptu; it was fucking deliberatly staged willingly by Harris's campaign and FOX. Her poise was crafted to send a message not only to the horny 18-34 breast-lovin' Republican male voting demograhic (read: "Hot Dayum, Cletus, check 'em out! She makes me wanna give doze many crow's feet on her neck a pearl necklace she won't evah forget!") but to the very Straussians & Rovians within the GOP (read: "See, guys? If I stand like this, voters will forget all about my role in Election 2000, those nasty Photoshopped images of my face, and instead will pay more attention from the neck down instead of the neck up!") to give her the nomination and full support -- something they are unwilling to do:

The White House and some Republican leaders have tried to recruit other party candidates to run against Harris this time, fearing her polarizing role in the 2000 election would alienate moderate voters. But no other Republican has entered the race.

In other words, Harris is adroitly demanding payback from rigging the election the Bush administration profitted from (in more ways than one, but that goes without saying) and they're dragging their asses, therefore she's forced to use ... uhm ... her other talents, which she displays so well on that video. Thus, she has earned a new nickname from me: TITS HARRIS!

I'm also going to go on ahead and declare an ACTION ALERT on this mess because I'm getting the strange feeling that if Bush and the GOP can't field other candidates to run against her within the next few months, they'll hunker down and draw up plans to support her ... but not without a vigorous "political image" makeover that'll kick off on the editorial pages of the WSJ where her name will show up as "Kat" Harris. Notice the change? "Kat" denotes a sort of feline, sensual, sex-kitten quality to it -- a perfect match for those casabas she and FOX NEWS gave center stage to.

Some people (hell, most people, for all I know) in the GOP JesusLand will fall for it because they simply can't make the accurate assumption that if Tits Harris's "other talents" consists of stuffing her own bra, then there isn't anything else of her own she isn't willing to stuff (I'm talking BALLOT BOXES, you bunch of sick fucks).

Kudos to Ellen @

Not Bad ... For A Canuck

Peter Jennings
July 29, 1938 ---- August 7, 2005

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Nearly four months to the day since he announced in a hoarse voice on his evening newscast that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, longtime ABC "World News Tonight" anchor Peter Jennings died Sunday, according to the ABC News network. He was 67.

The solemn announcement was made late Sunday by "Good Morning America" co-host Charles Gibson, who said Jennings died in his New York City apartment. His wife, Kayce, his children Elizabeth and Christopher, and his sister were at his side, Gibson said.

He read a statement from the family that said: "Peter died with his family around him, without pain and in peace. He knew he had lived a good life."

Tali-Born Again Lets Hair Down About "Just Us" Sunday II

You know, I hate to be repetitious, but it looks like my predictions of a great divorce within the GOP are indeed accurate. They are imploding. Hackett's campaign run in Ohio against Frankenfrauline Schmidt -- one of the craziest lunatics to surface from God's Own Pissants since Ann "Blondie Bin" Coulter -- has got 'em all bleeding out the asshole and blaming it on Michael Moore because Hackett only lost by 4 percent. Also, we've seen over the past week Bill Frist's hopes of a Presidential run in 2008 go up like Fallujah thanks to none other than Tom "The Ticking Termite" DeLay who rolled on Frist the second Frist rolled on stem cell research, this pissing off the Theocrats. As a result, the Theocrats tossed Bill Frist into the "outer darkness" and decided to drink venom with The Bugman on for their forthcoming second "Justice Sunday" event.

Today, however, thanks to the NY Times, we get the joy of witnessing the Rev. Pat Robertson of the $700 Billion Club hit the venom-shine a little early, causing either instant delusion of granduer or a channeling of the dead spirit of Yasser Arafat (you be the judge):

In a televised prayer on Tuesday for Judge Roberts's confirmation, for example, the television evangelist Pat Robertson asked his viewers to pray: "Take control, Lord! We ask for additional vacancies on the court." (A "prayer point" on the Web site for Mr. Robertson's "Supreme Court Freedom Project" includes "additional vacancies" as well.)

If you read that as "Lawd, pahleeze strike Rehnquist dead or inoperative in Jesus' nayme, Ay-min!", you're not alone:

The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, called the prayer "ghoulish," saying, "The only way people leave the court these days is through death or infirmity."

Of course, since the good Reverend Robertson can't afford the PR nightmare of actively praying for the infirmament or death of a Supreme Court justice, he sent one of his Disciples of Delusion to cover his ass:

But a spokeswoman for Mr. Robertson said he was praying only for retirements, not deaths, noting that Justice Sandra Day O'Connor had retired after his prayer was first posted.

This is just prime spin considering the recent decline in Justice Rehnquist's health, which itself spurred the Republican noise machine to spout an unfounded rumor of his own immediately retirement just days after O'Connor announced hers -- unfounded because Rehnquist sent word that the day he retires will be the day the EMTs carry his dead or invalid body out of his chambers. Rev. Robertson knows that the day will naturally come sooner rather than later and yet emplores his foot soliders to pray to God hoping the Big Man upstairs will super-naturally speed up that "sooner" stuff just a hair. You know, while the Capitol is in recess.

To be certain, if God doesn't speed that day up, Rev. Robertson and his fundamentalist Republican Guard will find a way to blame Rehnquist's not giving up the ghost on "liberals" because accepting the idea that God is on record about "not playing favorites" would be to admit that the God of the Bible is an apolitical God.
That shit simply doesn't gel with their political agendas.

The Conspiracy Was Televised

Think back to the fallout of Election 2004 for a moment. Remember the reports of voting irregularities in Ohio? Do you recall all those reports of people having to stand over 12 hours in line to vote, especially in those areas that were predominately black and latino? And how those very non-white areas experianced a darth of electronic voting machines, thus contributing to those long lines? Many of us on the blue side of the yard point to them and charge the Ohio Republicans of engaging in the greatest act of fraud against the American people: the stealing and wanton rigging of a federal election.

What was the rightwing noise machine's reply to that charge?

"HAHAHAHAH!! THE LEFT IS LOOPY WITH CONSPIRACY THEORIES!!! BWHAHAHAH!!!"

Guess what, folks? The masks have fallen away and, thanks to the investigative reporting from Raw Story, we now discover that not only were the "America-hating" liberals right all along with the whole "The Grinnch Stole Ohio" conspiracy theory but the name of the prime player who rigged the whole thing up has surfaced. It's a name that should be very familiar to you: BERNADETTE NOE -- MRS. "COIN-GATE"

In yet another surreal twist in Ohio's "coin-gate" scandal, the wife of Bush's chief Ohio fundraiser, Tom Noe - who is currently embroiled in campaign finance and money laundering probes - surprised poll workers and observers alike by disrupting the ballot count during the 2004 general election, RAW STORY has discovered.

Bernadette Noe, who served dual roles as chairman for the Lucas County Republican Party and the Lucas County Board of Elections, sent twelve "partisans" into a warehouse on Election Day, according a memo authored by Ohio's Director of Campaign Finance Richard Weghorst who was present at the time.

I think we all know exactly who those "partisans" were (read: Freepers!) and to what extent their moral, Jesus-loving, purpose was. They had an agenda to seal Ohio's elector votes for Bush and that meant...

... [failing] to lock and secure ballots and voting machines; [manipulating] the three percent hand recount; and [failing] to properly remove Ralph Nader from county ballots, [and] peeling the return stickers off the voter confirmation cards ...

You know, what exactly was going to the hearts and minds of these bastards to compell them to pull off something this hideous? What feelings? What emotions? What was their mental state? While the majority of the GOP wrap themselves with a holy religious veneer, I think we know exactly what those things are ... but, again, let's hear it from Raw Story:

Tom Noe, the owner of several shady business ventures, including Vintage Coins and Collectibles, funneled an estimated fifty million dollars into his own personal and business accounts as well as to the state's GOP candidates. Noe's rare coin venture came at the expense of The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, for whom he acted as the sole fund manager.

So, let's do the math here: bilking Ohio State's injured workers fund, employing the use of partisan "freepers" to disrupt voting precincts, wantonly withholding voting machines among districts with a strong minority base thus making it impossible for them to vote, not locking and securing ballots and voting machines, manipulating a small hand recount, failing to remove Ralph Nader from official ballots, and being busted in the act of peeling off return stickers of voter confirmation cards.

Hmmm, is this the conduct worthy of "compassionate conservative" Christians; of morally correct, upstanding, honorable, and respectable people after Jesus' own heart or is it simply a flagrant display of a virulent, furious, and callous sense of DISREGARD, CONTEMPT, and HATRED of sweeping groups of American people such as "niggers", "spics", and "the working class", and other smarmy people who "think they know-it-alls" (read: fuckin' liberals)?

The answer to those questions and more can be found simply by reading the comments they post at Free Republic, Little Green Footballs and my old haunt that I've dubbed as "Freeper Lite". Those are just three of many rightwing joints that - like most of today's mainstream Republicans - often hide and disguise their disregard, contempt, and hatred of large, sweeping, groups of Americans in order to appear sociable and likable. That is until they suspect that your're "liberal". If that happens (especially at my old stomping grounds), look out because you'll be derided as a "fetus-killing welfare leech" or just somebody who "simply hates America". They should know, too. Don't argue with them because they're "experts" on America-hating. Afterall, they've had years of practice themselves under the Patriot/Militia movement of the 1990s and constant indoctrination on their two-way radios by their pill-popping "God" (read: Limbaugh Akbar!!!)

Old habits die hard ...
