Today's Republicans -- Posterchildren For Stupidity
The ladies at Firedoglake let us all in on the latest incohate screech from Jean Schmidt the Wicked Witch of Ohio (carefull - they provide a hideous picture of the old hag, too):At one point she called on an apparantly sypathetic blond-haired, conservatively -dressed cornfed Ohio man who asked a question that seemed to intrigue her: "I'm troubled," he said, "By this unwarrented wiretapping program not just because of the Fourth and Second and First Amendment issues it raises but because the bad guys might get off on a technicality. That this might actually be aiding our enemies and my question is what, if any, do you believe are the limits of Presidential power in wartime and what is you duty as a member of Congress if those limits have been exceeded?"
"Wow!" she said after a new moon phase had come and gone, "that's a big question...privacy rights...(she seemed to cock her head for better reception) ... we're at war ... suspending the Constitution is sometimes necessary ... if someone is going to attack us, we shoud know that and go after them..." To which she received some applause.
It's official: Republicans "love" America so much that they go so far as to suggest suspending the Constitution in order to save America from terrorists. In their eyes, the moldering, hundreds of years old document of our forefathers is a hinderence. The GOP actually do believe that the Constitution is "just a peice of paper" afterall. These dumbass, fake Christian, fascist, torture-litarians can't communicate their open hate for America any clearer and that "liberals hate 'Murika" meme from AM yak radio and FOX NEWS was just a convenient cover of typical rightwing "projectionism" on their part to distract people from discovering the truth -- that truth being REPUBLICANS are the ones that really hate America enough to even consider scrapping the goddamned Constitution.
No wonder Republicans and Conservatives aren't wanted in academia -- no reputable college in their right mind would dare give tenure to a bunch of full of shit fuckwads who sport a penchant for upholding positions and opinions that are nothing but the utmost height of stupidity, ignorance, and hypocracy. This whole suggestion of suspending the Constitution as sometimes being necessary speaks volumes -- when the WTC crumbled to the ground, so did their critical thinking skills. Totally fucking devoid of all logic and reason.
How come?
Even though the Constitution clearly doesn't give any branch of government the power to suspend the Constitution, let's humor this crazy old bitch and all her braindead Republican supporters: Guess what happens when the Constitution is suspended? I know what you're thinking: "Sizemore and his rat-collecting, Christian-hating, dirty ol' liberal blog and the rest of the liberals would have to shut up or risk being hung/shot for treason, sedition, siding with the enemy, and everything!"
WRONG!
With the suspension of the Constitution, each and every right I've got is null and void but so is every single solitary power of the Government, thus trying and killing people for "treason" and "sedition" is also null and void since suspending the Constitution would nullify all rights and powers granted by and/or derived from that very "piece of paper" with respect to the consent of the governed (e.g. "the people"). Since over 70% of the American public can't stand Bush and the GOP's leadership, you won't have the consent of the governed after suspension. But that's not all you won't have -- although I lose rights such as free speech and to peaceably assemble, women would lose their right to vote and be equal to men. Niggers and spics would have to go back to the slavery selling blocks. Christian would lose their right to worship Jehovah ....... and you stupid rightwingers would also lose your right to bear arms! That's right -- you would have to hand over all of your guns to the State from your warm, living hands; not your cold dead ones.
To suspend the Constitution = OSAMA BIN LADEN WINS .......... DEFAULTALITY!
At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!
